Waterful Weekend

This weekend the kids have had their fill of water. On Friday they headed up with Mom to Wild Waters in Fresno and spent the day their. It was Evan's first time and Brookley's first return in a couple of years. Dad wasn't there to see how much fun they had but rumor has it that it was pretty fun. Then Saturday the whole family including the Mestas's, Glasgow's and Brookhouser's headed up to Buckeye Flats once again to go swimming in a hole we found last week. It was a little chilly getting in but once we got used to it Brookley couldn't get enough. Mommy and Evan seemed to get enough quickly though. We also got a chance to jump off a bridge up there which seemed a lot higher once you got to the top.

These obsessive fans were recorded a while back but dad didn't get around until now to make a video of it. Of course there was no way Dad taught them what to say, they just know a great basketball team when they see one.

1st Day of School

Today was a big day for Brookley because it was her very first day of preschool at the YMCA. Of course Mom and Dad think she is going to have a hard time and will have to leave her there crying for us, but instead she just gives them a casual "bye bye." The only bad part about her first day is that the teacher said that she kept taking her clothes off. She's just like her mommy I guess. Actually we didn't know but it was water day and she wanted to play and she didn't have her swimsuit so why not just go naked. It's exciting but sure is sad to think that our little girl is growing up whether we like it our not.

Mestas Anniversary

For Neal and Kristen's 8th wedding anniversary they invited us to go up to Sequoia National Park with them and their family. Since we're such suckers for a good time, we took them up on the offer. We started out by heading up to Buckeye Flats where we hid Easter Eggs a few months ago and had some lunch. Then we went a little further up the mountain to Crystal Cave. We're not sure what Kristen was thinking since she's about ready to pop with their little boy, but she decided to do the half mile hike down to the cave and then back up to the parking lot. The cave was exciting but never as exciting as spelunking on your own in one the Brush Creek caves in Vernal. All in all it was a mighty fun anniversary.

Independence Day

For the 4th of July this year we decided to just stick aroung Visalia. I do miss 4th of July's in Vernal though. I mean where else are you going to get such great seating without even leaving your front yard? In the morning we headed up to Three Rivers and had some breakfast at Dad's favorite restaurant "We Three Bakery." It was a little slow and busy but still awfully tasty. Then we headed down to Grandma Brookhouser's house and spent the day swimming since it was well over 100F. Since we didn't want to head to the stadium for the big fireworks we just had a small show out in front of the house. We're not sure how we did it but not one single kids got burned with a sparkler. Overall it was a pretty good 4th of July.
